Over the Musk is part of Mugler’s Les Exceptions collection, exploring musk through a soft, tactile and skin-focused composition. The current Mugler presentation identifies Jean-Christophe Hérault as the perfumer behind its concept, while Fragrantica credits both Jean-Christophe Hérault and Olivier Polge for the original 2014 fragrance. White musk forms the centre of the composition, paired with ambrette seed, a botanical source of musky ambrettolide with subtly animalic facets. Pink pepper provides a crisp contrast, while vanilla and white florals soften and refine the musk. Cashmeran contributes additional warmth and an amber-woody texture.  The result is a clean yet carnal interpretation of musk, balancing powdery softness with warm woods and gentle spice for an intimate, enveloping scent character.
