Description:
Carios is part of Parfums de Marly’s Les Extraits collection, presenting an ambery fougère built around the contrast between radiant citrus, aromatic herbs and warm tonka bean. Bergamot and red mandarin give the opening a bright, juicy quality, sharpened by pink peppercorn and saffron. The aromatic character becomes more pronounced through geranium and distinctive red thyme, while black pepper adds further dry spice. Cedarwood, vetiver and ambroxan form a structured woody foundation before roasted tonka bean introduces a warmer, smoother facet. The composition balances freshness and warmth throughout, moving from citrus and spice into aromatic greenery and finally a woody, softly sweet base. Its fougère framework is therefore treated with a more ambery, spicy character than a traditional lavender-led interpretation, while retaining a clear aromatic freshness.
